This is an interesting documentary on Thailand’s history, discussing the beginning of the Chakri dynasty under King Rama I the Great, the founder of Bangkok and first King of the current royal family. Giving a fascinating account of the difficulties Thailand faced both home and abroad while trying to adapt to the modern world.’ Some highlights are the stories of the King gaining Napoleon favor with and elephant and offering one to Abraham Lincoln and the story of the Queen that was left to drown as her servants were forbidden to touch her. The Skyrail

It is best to get around in Bangkok on the skyrail and metro if you can; they are really pleasant very easy and cheaper than a tuk tuk or taxi.
