This year we have had some fantastic special offers from The Maldives.’ The combination of a world’ recession, a strong dollar and an oversupply of top end hotels meant the yearly price increases were sharply reversed.’ Especially at the higher end of the market, there has never been a better time to visit.
Most of the offers are great though I wanted to mention one I received from a well know known mid to high range hotel (apologies for sounding coy, but I am not allowed to release specific details) as follows:

Compulsory supplement of US$155 per adult / per day to be paid for every free night.
I wondered in what world and in whose mind does paying $155 per adult per day constitute a complimentary night!?! Special offers need to be a genuine saving, transparent, clear and enticing – for there to be any point at all!
