Hoi An is an extremely pretty town and in its architecture you can clearly note the different influences that have helped shaped its development.’ The Victoria Hotel takes’these’influences and cleverly combines them into its design.’ The elegant reception has an open, colonial feel and all the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming on arrival.
There are a number of different sleeping options ranging from superior rooms with either a garden or riverfront view to the honeymoon villas, complete with sunken baths, outside showers and plasma television screens.’ All have a particular theme be it Vietnamese, Japanese or colonial.
We stayed in a very nice beachfront villa with a luxurious bed, large shower, comfortable veranda and stunning view.’ The food on offer is excellent, ranging from a bar menu for lunch with a range of European and Vietnamese options to the restaurant which serves delicious meals every evening.’ You can take your pick of tables, from the comfort of the air conditioned interior, to a garden or poolside table.’ We had a very enjoyable 3 course meal, the highlights being the extremely succulent piece of beef and an interesting mango carpaccio desert.
The pool is a good size and very well kept.’ It is adjacent to the private beach and has a variety of sun loungers available to while away the days.’ The resort also offers many different trips in and around Hoi An and free bicycle hire for those who can withstand the heat and wish to explore for themselves!’ For those who do not want to leave the comfort of the resort, there are a wide range of spa treatments available within the fitness centre and we played a few games of table tennis and pool!
This is a very good base from which to explore the lovely town of Hoi An, whilst also holidaying in comfort and enjoying the stunning ocean surroundings.’ We enjoyed our stay immensely.
