Protecting Wilpattu

dsc00403Wilpattu National Park, which was recently re-opened and is Sri Lanka’s biggest National Park, is under threat due to the unnecessary construction of two huge main roads within the park.

The park which was famous for it’s leopards was closed due to the civil war in Sri Lanka and has recently been re-opened only to find that this ambitious construction could be worse than anything it has seen before.

Please sign this petition and help ensure the national park is a safe haven for animals.

Tom Armstrong

Tom Armstrong is one of the founding members of Experience Travel, having first fallen in love with Sri Lanka in 1999. He was in the country at the time of the 2004 tsunami, which prompted him to found the Aid Sri Lanka Foundation.     This is scandalous after all terrorist mayhem. I was lucky enough to see a leopard stalk ing sambhur in daylight beside a waterhole and a sea eagle alight onto a snake right in front of our vehicle about 10 or more years ago Too many vehilces will ruin this reserve . We drove on an unmade track
