Sri Lankan Airlines Air Taxi re-starts their service

Old news now of course, but just a reminder that the Sri Lankan Airlines ‘Air Taxi’ service is starting up again on the 18th December with a return flight from Colombo Airport to Koggala (near Galle), via Bentota and back.

The service will depart from Katunayake (Colombo Airport) at 06:30 hours and return from Koggala at 09:00 and will cost £140 each for those not travelling with Sri Lankan Airlines with a discount of a little under 50% for those travelling internationally with Sri Lankan.’Barely more than a road transfer for a couple and far more pleasant – clear skys mean absolutely magnificent views of the mountains on side and the coast on the other.

From January 4th, 2011 an afternoon service will be added as well, departing from Katunayake at 14:30 and returning from Koggala at 17:30. This really will transform access to the south coast.

For groups or those with slightly bigger budgets don;t forget that chartering a plane is a relaistic option and that opens up a plethora of other destinations.
